Game Console prices, compared
Every current home console from Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft, priced side by side. All three makers raised their US prices in 2026, so the list price in each table is the one on the maker’s own store today, not the launch price. Each retailer price is dated with the last time we read it on the retailer’s own page.

Which Game Console should you buy?
Big console discounts are rare outside sale events, and this year list prices went up rather than down. A retailer selling a dollar or two under list is normal; a real cut of $50 or more is usually a holiday-season event, and the table is how you see it the week it happens.
Between the two PS5 models the only difference is the disc drive. Buy the standard PS5 if you own or buy physical games; the Digital Edition saves $50 if everything you play comes from the PlayStation Store.
The PS5 Pro is for 4K TVs. It has a stronger graphics chip and 2TB of storage, but no disc drive, and its list price is $250 above the standard PS5.
Xbox Series X and Series X Digital are the same console apart from the drive; the Digital Edition is $50 less. Most retailers price both a dollar or two under Microsoft’s list.
Switch 2 is a handheld that also plays on the TV, and it is the only one here that does. It plays most original Switch games too.

Do consoles go on sale for Black Friday?
Often, mainly as bundles with a game or as a straight price cut at one or two retailers. We re-check these pages every day through the Black Friday and Cyber Monday week, so a cut shows up here with its date.
How we check these prices
Every price on this page was read from the retailer’s own product page (Nintendo, Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Target, PlayStation, Xbox), and every page is re-read once a week. The date beside each price is the day it was last confirmed. List prices come from the manufacturer’s own store; struck-through prices are the retailer’s own “was” price, never one we worked out. Out-of-stock listings stay in the table, marked, and never count as the lowest price. When a page cannot be read reliably, the previous price stays up with its original date rather than being guessed.
We earn a commission through retailer affiliate links. Price and stock are set by the retailer, not by us.
